Inspirational
Kids
Our Young Hero Award Winner grew and tended her own garden to raise money
for hungry children, while our Runner Up teaches nutrition to younger
kids and makes it possible for those less fortunate to benefit from youth
programs. The state's Outstanding Young Philanthropist has helped raise
thousands of dollars for YMCA programs as well as serving as a tutor and
school leader. This year's Arthritis Foundation Jingle Bell Run Honoree
doesn't let her disease rule her life and is a spokesperson for those
looking for a cure. We're sure you'll be inspired by our local kids.
Giving that Makes a Difference
If your own children feel inspired to help others, here are some practical
solutions, from buying a goat for a third-world family to sponsoring a
child, sending the gift of art, helping an animal or adopting a stream.
For
the Love of the Game
Whether it's the rain or the coffee or the literary atmosphere or the
entrepreneural spirit, the Greater Seattle area is a hotbed for board
game invention and innovation. Learn about homegrown game companies and
the latest offerings from each. You're sure to find something to tickle
the fancy of preschoolers, challenge grade school kids and engage teenagers,
while bringing the family together for the holidays.
