Carousel, Carousel
Newly installed carousels will be up and running this month at both Woodland Park and Point Defiance zoos.

Woodland Park Zoo: Restored 1918 hand-carved 48-horse carousel originally built for the Cincinnati Zoo. The carousel will be housed in an 80-foot diameter octagonal building. 9:30am-6pm daily July 22-Sept. 14, 9:30am-5pm through end of Sept., then permanently installed summer 2007. $1 per ride, plus zoo admission. $10.50, $8.50 seniors, $7.50 ages 3-12, free ages 2 and younger. Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium: A restored 1917 carousel mechanism plus 34 animals carved by The Washington Antique Carousel Society and Friends. Summer Train

Bucks for PACE

Destination: Country Village
Enjoy a site-specific art happening at Country Village in Bothell. Artist Amy-Ellen F. Trefsger will be living in a small red-trimmed white boat with only a cot, desk, necessary toiletries and nautical wear. Temporarily residing in or inhabiting public spaces is an ongoing theme of Trefsger’s work, which began with a 2004 40-day stint living in the gallery at Center on Contemporary Art in Seattle. Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit
Bellevue Downtown Park is the site for the seventh biennial Bellevue Sculpture Exhibition. 40 original pieces from the United States, Canada and Europe are on view through Oct. 9 in the park (10201 NE Fourth St., Bellevue), as well as indoors and outdoors at the new Bellevue City Hall (450 110th Ave. NE, Bellevue).
