Calendar Highlights

Ewww – Gross!

Did you know that more than 100,000,000 micro-creatures live in your mouth? That the hydrochloric acid in your stomach is so strong that it can eat up stainless steel razor blades? Or that a sneeze will shoot out of your nose at 100 mph? Pacific Science Center’s exhibit Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body features interesting facts about science, health and the human body. Based on Sylvia Branzei’s bestselling children’s book, Grossology, the exhibit features more than 20 interactive displays that reveal embarrassing and funny things that usually aren’t spoken of in polite society.

For further embarrassment, be sure to visit the public restrooms in Pacific Science Center’s Bldg. 5. They’ve been transformed into gross-themed lavatories where visitors can learn more about the science of grossology by looking at unpleasant facts written on the purple, brown and green walls.

10am-5pm weekdays, 10am-6pm weekends through May 6. Included with admission. $10, $8.50 seniors, $7 ages 3-12, IMAX and laser shows extra. Pacific Science Center, 200 Second Ave. N, Seattle. 206-443-2001. www.pacsci.org.
